Full Moon, Sea of Tranquility

Captured 13 June 2022

This full moon image reveals the intricate features of the lunar surface. In the center is Mare Vaporum, a small volcanic plain. Just to the south, the darker expanse of Mare Tranquillitatis (Sea of Tranquility) stretches across the surface, famously known for the Apollo 11 landing. On the left edge, the prominent Tycho Crater stands out, with its striking rays extending across the lunar landscape, adding depth to the moon's southern hemisphere.
