A Grand Design Spiral

Captured 16 November 2025

Bode's Galaxy (Messier 81) is a grand design spiral galaxy in Ursa Major, about 12 million light-years away. Its well-defined, sweeping spiral arms make it one of the most photographed galaxies in the night sky, and one of the brightest visible from Earth.
